Kensington is also famous for its diverse and incredibly good food.
I tried jerk chicken for the first time in Rasta Pasta. It’s a Jamaican dish where the meat is marinated in jerk seasoning. It’s spicy and very very tasty. I highly recommend it!
I bet he’ll look happier after he’s had his jerk chicken.
Their lunch special was $4.99 which included a quarter jerk chicken, rice and beans, and some vegetables. Jamaican rice and beans is saucy and delicious.
You then head outside to get your jerk chicken.
This smells so good cooking on the grill.
Chopped up with sauce on top. People say this is one of the best jerk chickens in the city. I haven’t tried other places but I would definitely come back for this!
Seven Lives is a well-known taco place in the area. You can always expect a line here, but not to worry as it moves very fast.
Blackened mahi mahi taco with medium hot japaleno sauce.
This is what they are famous for, and rightfully so. Their Gobernador taco is filled with smoked tuna, shrimps, and cheese. I topped it with lime juice and their medium hot jalapeno sauce.
I’m not a taco fan but this had me converted. If you are ever in Kensington Market, you must you must try this!!!
